One system, not one product

A Galvanized Steel Trench Drain Is a Run, Not a Part

A galvanized trench drain only works when every component matches: the channel width sets the grating span, the traffic sets the grating class, and the run only closes when end caps and outlets are on the same order. Specify it as one system and one drawing covers all of it.

Component Job in the system What you specify How we supply it
Channel bodyCarries collected water from catchment to outletInternal width, depth, wall steel, fall direction, run lengthFabricated from Q235B plate in our workshop, galvanized after fabrication
Grating panelsTakes the traffic above while storm water passes throughLoad class, bearing bar size, mesh opening, plain or serratedWelded or press-locked panels from our in-house lines, cut and banded to the run
End capsCloses the channel so water cannot escape the end of the runWhich ends close, fixing styleSourced companion items, quoted and shipped with your order
Outlets & sumpsHands the flow over to the pipe networkOutlet size and position along the runSourced companion items matched to your channel sections
Edge frames & fixingsSupports the grating in the trench and locks panels downFrame profile, anchoring, clip patternSourced companion items, fixing layout included with the order

Grates and channel bodies come from one factory to your drawings; end caps, outlets and fixings ride along as companion line items — one purchase order closes the whole run. Not sure how to split it? Send your run layout — we will spec it inside the 24-hour quote.

How to spec a run

Four Decisions Define a Channel Run

plan view — one channel run fall direction channel body (galvanized) grating panels — joint every panel length outlet to pipe end cap bearing bars span across the channel — span direction follows channel width
1

Map the water path

Where the water collects, where it must end up, and which way the run falls. This fixes the run length and the position of every outlet and sump before any steel is cut.

2

Fix channel width and depth

Width and depth follow the expected flow and debris load. The channel width also sets the clear span of the grating, because bearing bars run across the channel, not along it.

3

Choose the grating class

Traffic decides the class: pedestrian precincts need far less panel than truck lanes. Pick bar height and spacing from our range, with close mesh where heels and wheels share the surface.

4

Close the system

List the end caps, outlets, sumps, edge frames and fixings as line items on the same drawing. The run then arrives complete and bolts together from one delivery.

Why system, not product

Why Specifiers Order the Galvanized Trench Drain as One System

Storm water below, truck wheels above

Open-mesh grating passes storm water and debris straight into the channel while the panel carries the traffic over it. Choose the class for the wheels, the mesh for the water — both from one spec sheet.

One drawing, one quote, one shipment

Grates and channel bodies come from one factory to your drawings, and the companion items ship with them. No middlemen between your layout and the mill — one purchase order closes the run.

Any run length, small MOQ

Panels are cut and banded to your drawings at any run length, in sections that suit your site joints. Small trial orders are welcome — prove the run before the full site order.

Applications

Where Galvanized Drainage Channels Work

Wherever collected water has to cross a traffic lane, a hot-dip galvanized run keeps the surface open for wheels and feet while the zinc keeps the wet steel protected.

Driveways & forecourts

Entrance and kerbside runs rated for car and delivery-van wheels.

Industrial yards & washdown

Yard runs that take wash water, salt spray and daily site moisture in stride.

Streets & car parks

Carriageway and car-park edge drains with grating classed for the lane.

Precincts & basements

Close-mesh covers where people walk straight over the run, indoors or out.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time for a galvanized drainage channel system?

Samples ship in 5–7 working days and mass production runs 15–25 working days after drawing confirmation, hot-dip galvanizing included. Rush production in 10–15 days is possible with a surcharge — ask in your quote.

Do you supply the complete channel system or only the grating?

Grating panels and channel bodies are fabricated in our own workshop to your drawings. End caps, outlets, edge frames and fixings are sourced companion items, quoted as line items and shipped with the order so one delivery closes the run.

Can I start with a short trial run before a full order?

Yes — small trial orders are welcome, with panels cut to your run length. Pricing is itemized per m² or per ton in your quote; we do not publish a fixed price list. Shipped worldwide FOB Tianjin, with EXW or CIF negotiable.
