Workshop overview

A 3,000 ㎡ Workshop, Four Product Lines, One Team

Dengtai Staircase Manufacturing Co., Ltd. runs a single-purpose workshop in Jingxing Mining District, Shijiazhuang. Steel arrives by truck, is checked against its mill test certificates at goods-in, then flows in one direction: cutting, forming, inspection, galvanizing, packing. Nothing about the layout is staged for visitors — you see the same flow an audit sees.

Four product lines share that floor: welded steel bar grating, press-locked grating, grating stair treads and stainless steel grating. Around 20 people run the workshop end to end — quoting engineers, quality control, machine operators, and the packing crew that braces every export shipment.

How panels are made

Two Forming Routes, Both In-House

Every grating panel starts as plain bearing bars and cross bars. What makes it grating is the joint between them — and Dengtai forms those joints two ways, depending on the mesh and duty you specify.

bearing bars cross bars fused joints

The electro-forging line

Bearing bars and cross bars are laid out in the line, and every intersection is fused under pressure and current in one continuous pass — not welded by hand, one joint at a time. The panel leaves the line as one piece of steel: joints cannot work loose, and there are no clips to inspect or replace. This is where welded grating at 30 / 40 / 60 mm centers is formed, flat and square.

cross bar mechanically interlocked

The press-lock machine

For close mesh, cross bars are pressed into notched bearing bars and mechanically interlocked — no welding heat at all, so panels stay dead flat even at fine 11 / 11 mm spacing. The interlock carries load across both directions, which is why press-locked grating is the standard answer for trench covers, tree pits covers, facades and fine pedestrian floors.

Fabrication capabilities

Cut, Bend, Band and Pack — Under the Same Roof

Panels leave the forming lines as standard sizes; orders leave the gate as finished goods. Between those two moments sits the fabrication bench, where your drawings become the panel list, and the panel list becomes a container-ready shipment.

Cutting to size

Saw and plasma cutting take stock panels down to your exact panel list — notches, cutouts and odd angles included, marked against the approved drawing.

Bending & forming

Hydraulic bending forms tread end plates, banding bars and closure details — the parts that decide whether treads and panels install cleanly on site.

Custom banding

Banded edges, checkered or serrated nosing, load-direction arrows and part marks — banded to your drawings so every panel is identifiable at the jobsite.

Export packing

Steel strapping and pallets, braced for ocean freight from Tianjin Port. Loading plans are calculated per container so you ship steel, not air.

Hot-dip galvanizing

Galvanized at a Certified Partner Next Door — and We Say So

We do not pretend to galvanize in-house. Panels travel to a long-term certified galvanizing partner near the mill for full-immersion hot-dip galvanizing, and the coating comes back checked like everything else that enters this workshop.

Full immersion, no shortcuts

Complete immersion builds the metallurgical zinc bond that paint and spray-on coatings cannot match — the standard protection for outdoor grating.

2–3 days, inside the window

The round trip typically takes 2–3 days and is already counted inside the 15–25 day production window — galvanizing never stretches your lead time by surprise.

Checked at stage 4

Coating thickness is sampled on every galvanized batch, aligned with ASTM A123 / ISO 1461 expectations, before panels are released to final inspection.

Quality control

Five Stages of QC, Walked End to End

Quality here is a sequence, not a slogan. Every order passes the same five gates, and the paper trail from stage 1 to stage 5 travels with your shipment.

StageWhat is checked
1Goods-in Mill test certificates verified heat by heat before any steel enters the workshop — Q235B, SS304 and SS316 all traceable.
2First article The first panel of every batch checked in full against the approved drawing — dimensions, spacing, banding, squareness.
3Joint inspection Every panel visually inspected, joints sampled — produced to ANSI/NAAMM MBG 531 reference practice.
4Coating check Galvanized batches sampled for coating thickness, aligned with ASTM A123 / ISO 1461, before release from the galvanizing partner.
5Final inspection Dimensions, banding, marking and export packing verified; the factory inspection report ships with the order.

The team

The People Behind Your Panels

Around 20 people keep this workshop honest. When you email Dengtai, you reach the same team that runs the floor — the quote you receive is written by people who have watched your panels being made.

Sales & engineering

Answer enquiries, review drawings free of charge and turn them into the itemized quote you receive within 24 hours.

Quality control

Owns the five-stage plan, holds the calipers at first article and signs the inspection report that travels with your shipment.

Machine operators

Run the forming lines, cutting bench and bending work — the hands that turn an approved drawing into physical panels.

Packing & logistics

Strap, palletize and brace the export shipment, then plan the container loading for the ~400 km haul to Tianjin Port.

Factory audits welcome

Come and Verify Us Before You Commit

A real factory has nothing to hide. Book an on-site audit at our Jingxing workshop, or start with a video walkthrough if travel is difficult. Either way you will see the forming lines run, open the QC records, check mill test certificates on file, and meet the people who will actually make and pack your order. Asking is free — mention it in your quote request and we will arrange a date.

  • On-site or video audit, scheduled around your visit
  • QC records and mill test certificates open on request
  • Third-party inspection before shipment, arranged if you require it
  • Certified & tested, reports on request — no certificate wall

FAQ

Factory Questions Buyers Ask

Can we audit the Dengtai factory before ordering?

Yes — factory audits are welcome, on site at our Jingxing workshop or by video call. Walk the forming lines, watch the five-stage QC in progress and review mill test certificates on file before you commit to an order.

What capacity does the factory have?

The workshop covers 3,000 ㎡ and runs 4 product lines — welded, press-locked, stair treads and stainless grating — with 20 staff and a 200 t monthly capacity. Samples ship in 5–7 working days and production runs 15–25 working days after drawing confirmation.

How are panels packed for export?

Every panel is banded to your drawings, then export-packed with steel strapping on pallets for ocean freight from Tianjin Port. Packages are marked to your requirements and itemized on the factory inspection report that travels with the shipment.
