How your quote is built
No Price List — a Transparent Cost Structure
We do not publish fixed numbers, because two panels of the same area can carry very different amounts of steel. Instead, every bar grating cost is quoted the same transparent way, whatever the size of your order. That holds for a galvanized bar grating cost too — the zinc adds a finish line item, not a mystery markup, and we show it on its own row.
Per ton, FOB, by spec
The valuation basis is steel weight per ton, FOB Tianjin, driven by three spec variables: material grade, mesh and finish. Same basis for a trial pallet or a full project.
Itemized line by line
Material, fabrication, galvanizing, packing and FOB Tianjin each appear as their own line — so you can see exactly where the money sits and challenge any line.
Written reply in 24 hours
Send a spec, a designation or just a sketch — a written itemized quote comes back within 24 hours, free drawing review included. Samples follow in 5–7 working days.
Cost drivers
What Drives Bar Grating Cost: Weight First
Bar grating is priced from steel, and steel means weight. The bearing bar section multiplied by the bar spacing decides how many kilograms sit in every square metre — which is why the same walkway area can quote very differently depending on the spec chosen.
Light logic
Fewer, shallower bearing bars per metre mean less steel in the panel. Where spans are short and loads are pedestrian, this is the spec that keeps the material line down.
Heavy logic
Deeper bars set closer together multiply the kilograms per square metre — necessary under wheel loads and long spans, and it shows up directly in the material line of the quote.
| Cost driver | What changes | Effect on your quote |
|---|---|---|
| Bearing bar section | Depth and thickness of the bar, from light pedestrian to heavy wheel-load sections | The single biggest line — more steel per square metre than any other choice |
| Bar spacing | 30 / 40 / 60 mm centers, or close mesh on the press-locked route | Closer centers add bars per metre and weight accordingly |
| Material grade | Q235B carbon steel, or SS304 / SS316 stainless | Stainless re-prices the whole material line by grade |
| Surface finish | Black steel, or hot-dip galvanized to ASTM A123 / ISO 1461 | HDG adds a processing line and buys outdoor service life |
| Fabrication | Cutting to size, banding, notching, tread end plates | More edge work per panel raises the fabrication line |
| Logistics | FOB Tianjin, packing format, container loading plan | Packing density decides how much freight each square metre carries |
Want the lightest spec that still passes your load check? Send your drawings — we will spec it inside the 24-hour quote.
Line-item anatomy
What a Bar Grating Quote Contains
Every quote that leaves this factory is built from the same lines — so you can compare like with like, project after project, and see the effect of each spec change as its own number.
Material
Steel content of the spec — bearing bars, cross bars and banding steel — valued per ton, FOB basis, with the grade stated on the line.
Fabrication
Forming the panel and the cut list: welding or press-locking, cutting to your dimensions, banding edges, notching around steelwork.
Finish
Black steel as welded, or hot-dip galvanizing at our certified partner plant — shown as its own line so the outdoor-duty premium is visible.
Packing & loading
Export steel strapping, pallets and the container loading plan — panels nest, so packing density is engineered, not left to chance.
Documents
DoC, mill test certificate to EN 10204 Type 3.1 and the factory inspection report travel with the goods — certified & tested, reports on request.
Terms
FOB Tianjin as standard, EXW or CIF negotiable, payment by agreement. The quote states the basis plainly, with the itemized total on request.
Specifications
The Spec Ranges Behind the Cost
These are the real production ranges your cost is built from. Read them with the weight logic above and you can already tell whether a spec leans light or heavy before you ask.
| Parameter | Range |
|---|---|
| Bearing bar | 20×3 mm to 100×8 mm, plain or serrated |
| Bar spacing | 30 / 40 / 60 mm centers |
| Close mesh | Press-locked panels down to 11 / 11 mm |
| Panel size | Up to 1.25 m wide × 6 m long |
| Materials | Q235B carbon steel · SS304 / SS316 stainless |
| Surface | Black or hot-dip galvanized (ASTM A123 / ISO 1461) |
| Designations | 19W4 and equivalent custom specs |
Check the weight before you ask
Two ways to sanity-check a spec before it reaches the form: look at how bar section and spacing combine into weight per square foot, or run the load question first and let the load decide the lightest acceptable bar.

FAQ
Bar Grating Cost Questions
Why is there no bar grating price list on this page?
Cost follows the specification, not a fixed sheet. Bearing bar section and spacing set the steel weight per square metre, and material, finish, fabrication and freight follow from there. Every quote is built line by line — material, fabrication, galvanizing, packing, FOB Tianjin — and sent in writing within 24 hours.
Which specification choices lower bar grating cost?
Weight is the biggest driver, so matching the bearing bar section to the real span, instead of oversizing it, saves the most steel. Standard spacings, plain rather than serrated bars where duty allows, and a black finish for indoor exposure all trim the bill of materials. Send drawings and we will propose the lightest spec that still passes the load check.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
Small trial orders are welcome. Samples ship in 5–7 working days and mass production runs 15–25 working days after drawing confirmation, hot-dip galvanizing included. Full-container orders are calculated per loading plan.
