What Changes When a Floor Carries Forklifts
A floor that carries wheels is specified differently from one that carries feet. Before any load table is opened, four things change: bar sections, bar centers, deflection behavior and the way panel joints are finished.

How a Heavy-Duty Grating Floor Is Built Up
1 · Support steel sets the span
Bearing bars run across the supports, never parallel to them. The spacing of your support steel, the wheel load and the deflection you can accept together set the bar section — we check all three in the free drawing review.
2 · Panels, joints and edges
Panels are cut to your floor module and close-banded at every joint and open edge, so wheels roll over a flush seam instead of catching a bare bar end. Clip fixings are supplied alongside the panels for bolted assembly.
3 · Hot-dip galvanizing as default
Plant floors see spills, washdown and traffic — so heavy duty floor panels ship hot-dip galvanized to ASTM A123 / ISO 1461 as standard. Galvanizing runs 2–3 days at a certified partner plant, already counted inside the production window.

Every intersection of bearing bar and cross bar is pressure-forged into one solid panel, so wheel loads spread across the floor instead of working a single joint loose. Load tables are provided with your quote, sized to your spans.

Floor modules cut and banded to your layout — openings, notches and joint positions included. Small trial orders are welcome, and full-container orders are calculated per loading plan.

Heavy-duty floors work toward the top of our welded range — bearing bars from 20×3 mm up to 100×8 mm at 30 / 40 / 60 mm centers. The right section depends on your support spacing and wheel load; send the floor layout and we size it inside the free drawing review that comes with your 24-hour quote.
How far apart can the support steel be under the panels?
Support spacing is calculated, not guessed. Bearing bars must run across the supports, and the span, the wheel load and the deflection you can accept underfoot together set the bar section and centers. We check your framing layout against load tables during drawing review — the tables are provided with your quote, not published as a fixed chart.
Do heavy duty floor panels come serrated and galvanized?
Yes to both. Serrated bearing bars are a running option for busy or wet floors, and hot-dip galvanizing to ASTM A123 / ISO 1461 is the default finish — galvanizing runs 2–3 days at our partner plant and is already counted inside the 15–25 working-day production window.
